The Steadicam allows our Steadicam operator to effortlessly move the camera around a location giving amazingly smooth shots. Time is spent beforehand working out the camera move, timing actor’s lines and preparing whatever lighting is required. Once you are ready and everything is in place, the shot could be done and dusted in minutes. Steadicam is often used when laying down meters of camera track isn’t possible. For example in a busy street, a sporting event, live music event or a busy office. All of these environments could benefit from Steadicam. Clients include Cadbury in Birmingham where we worked on their latest Cadbury World promotional film. The director wanted the camera to be walking through the attraction following various visitors and actors. We were working around paying customers so it was important we didn’t cause too much disruption. Watching from a distance, on a wireless video link monitor, the director was able to give the actor directions along with camera direction and feedback. The finished film showcased another record-breaking year for Cadbury World and was a huge success.

We have also supplied Steadicam facilities for various music events. For example at the Henley Festival we were on stage with the band getting some amazing shots in front of an audience of five thousand.

Wireless video monitoring has become the norm on most video shoots. We use a Wi-Fi video transmitter unit which attaches it’s self to the side of the camera and transmits it over it’s own adhoc Wi-Fi network. Crew and clients can view the live video feed on their smart phones or on one of our supplied iPad minis. No more trailing cables between the camera and a bulky monitor.

Our Steadicam and Steadicam operator is available for hire to broadcasters and production companies throughout the UK.
